This Wedding Invite was actually the concept design and inspiration for the Photo Reel, so it has a history that predates The Leather Mallet. Back then (more than 2 years ago), we wanted to conceptualise a Wedding Invite that was quite different from others we’ve seen. We started out as film wedding photographers (we still are) and we had a ready stash of used 35mm film canisters collected from our various film photography assignments. So, we created something that was close to our hearts as film photographers.
We had a long association with German fine art paper manufacturer, Hahnemühle, having used a lot of their fine art paper for our projects. The Monet canvas which we have used extensively for our print works became a very natural choice for this Wedding Invite – it’s durable and prints remarkably well.
When un-reeled, it reveals the Wedding Invite. The scroll can be reeled back into the film canister by twisting and turning the knob at the top pretty much how you would with a real film.
While we do not have a sample for now, the Photo Scroll can also be made into a Wedding Invite. Same purpose, different feel but still as unique.
